In Remembrance of Hilman Wibisana

TEAM: In Remembrance of Hilman Wibisana

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Hilman Wibisana, Senior Designer. Hilman joined DDG (now BCT Design Group) in 2001 to gain architectural experience in our office as part of a collaboration between the Institut Teknologi Bandung School of Architecture in Indonesia and DDG. He was selected by the school’s dean as one of the best and brightest students, and it was anticipated that he would return home to practice architecture. Fortunately for us, he never moved back to Indonesia, and our work and culture were enriched by his involvement.

According to Rajesh Gulati, Director of International Planning, “Hilman was a true friend, a humble and pious person with a positive outlook on life. He was more than just a co-worker; he left positive impressions with almost everyone he collaborated with during his 23 years at BCT/DDG. He took time and care to explain things patiently to younger staff as well as his peers, and we all learned so much from him about life and design. As one of our most gifted designers, Hilman played a significant role in all major international projects in China, Indonesia, India, and the Middle East, and most recently, domestic projects in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.”

“Hilman’s quiet charm and easy-going manner in the office will be missed more than anything. He was one of our most prolific designers and wonderful in so many other ways. May his memory be a blessing to us all,” stated Bryce Turner, President, and Senior Principal, BCT Design Group.

“Good design creates an environment that fosters well-being”
