The Shops at Canton Crossing represents the transformation of a former oil refinery into a 31-acre vibrant urban shopping destination. Located along Boston Street in East Baltimore’s up-and-coming Canton neighborhood, the center includes 410,000 SF of retail and dining options anchored by national tenants Target, DSW, Michael’s, Nordstrom Rack, Petco, and Old Navy. Small retailers and local eateries like Atwater’s, Mission BBQ, Samos Greek Island Grill, and Iron Rooster were designed to reflect the historical characteristics of the area’s industrial waterfront while providing a pedestrian-friendly, walkable destination.
The presence of younger families, working professionals, and empty-nesters in this Southeast Baltimore community underscores the changing nature of its neighborhoods and the purpose of this development. At the heart of the project is a 5,000 SF central green space that features built-in concrete and wood benches, outlets to charge electronic devices, free WiFi, and a fenced-in playground.
