Lawrence Park Shopping Center

Located just off the Blue Route in suburban Philadelphia, Lawrence Park Shopping Center has long served as a retail anchor for the surrounding neighborhoods. Originally built in the 1960s, the 29-acre center needed more than a refresh—it called for a reimagining.

Our transformation focused on turning a car-centric, sprawling layout into a pedestrian-friendly, village-style environment that fosters connection and community. We introduced a range of placemaking strategies—from integrated public seating and lush plantings to hand-painted murals and open-air dining pavilions. Sidewalks were redesigned to better connect with the surrounding neighborhoods, helping Lawrence Park feel like a natural extension of the community it serves.

Architecturally, we embraced a fresh yet timeless aesthetic that allows tenants to express individuality while contributing to a cohesive identity. The façade redesign features a refined palette of natural materials—standing seam metals, stone-clad columns, warm wood soffits, architectural panels, and painted exposed brick—that convey a modern, clean, and welcoming atmosphere.

The center is now punctuated by six hand-painted murals, a prominent pylon, and two monument signs—all carefully planned and coordinated from concept to fabrication. Lawrence Park is no longer just a place to shop—it’s a place to stay, stroll, and connect.
